FIRST E&P has a 40% working interest in OMLs 83 & 85 which are located in the shallow waters of the Niger Delta in Nigeria. FIRST E&P is the operator of the two blocks, on behalf of the NNPC/FIRST E&P Joint Venture.
Anyala field is located in OML 83. There are three main hydrocarbon compartments in the field (Anyala-West, Anyala-Central and Anyala-East), with oil and gas discoveries in multiple-stacked reservoirs.
A phased development strategy has been adopted for the full field development, with Phase 1A consisting of five development wells in Anyala West. Two appraisal/pilot wells were successfully drilled in Q2/Q3 2019, to ensure optimal placement of the development wells. The two wells discovered upsides in hydrocarbon resources, as well as additional development opportunities in Anyala West. Development drilling is currently ongoing in the field from a Conductor Supported Platform, a novel technology that provides significant cost savings and improved delivery schedule, compared to a traditional jacket platform
Anyala field will be developed along with the nearby Madu field in OML 85, which lies approximately 20km northwest of the Anyala. Madu field has a simpler structure compared with Anyala, but also has oil and gas discoveries in multiple-stacked reservoirs. Madu development constitutes Phase 1B of the integrated asset development plan and includes drilling of five oil development wells.
Production from both Anyala and Madu development wells will be processed through a shared Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit that will be positioned in Anyala. The FPSO which is currently undergoing upgrade works, has a processing capacity of 60,000 stb/day of oil, 25,000stb/day of water and 39MMscfd of gas.
As part of the gas monetization plan for the asset, both associated gas from oil production and the non-associated gas developments from Anyala and Madu fields will be routed to a gas processing hub, which is planned to be located in Anyala field and designed to feed an export line for the local gas market.
