Improving Lives through Health Programs

1. NNPC/FIRST E&P Joint Venture Facilitates Medical Outreach
In 2022, the OML 83 and 85 NNPC/FIRST E&P Joint Venture (‘the JV’) held a medical outreach for 8 communities in Bayelsa state including Koluama 1, Koluama 2, Ezetu 1, Ezetu 2, Foropa, Fish Town, Ekeni and Sangana. The outreach held from 3rd – 8th of December, 202. 62 medical doctors and other healthcare professionals provided free preventive medical services and treatment to over 2,200 people. In addition, the outreach provided six hundred and ninety-two pairs (692) pairs of prescription eyeglasses and one thousand two hundred (1200) mosquito nets to residents of the 8 communities.
In 2024, the JV held the second edition of the medical outreach, reaching over 3,400 residents of its expanded 11 host communities in Bayelsa State including our 11 host communities include Koluama 1, Koluama 2, Ezetu 1, Ezetu 2, Foropa, Fishtown, Ekeni, Sangana, Oginibiri, Okumbiribeleu & Okunmbiri (jointly referred to KEFFESO) in Southern Ijaw and Brass LGA. The program commenced on Friday, February 23, 2024 and concluded on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, reaching residents in remote communities with free health checks, laboratory tests and treatment, as well as eye checks and care, dental services and distribution of mosquito nets.
2. Health Workers Engagement
In 2020 18 Community Health Workers were engaged by the KEFFESO Rural Development Fund (KRDF) to improve health care delivery in our host communities through the GMoU program.
3. Relief Materials Donated to Bayelsa Flood Victims by the NNPC/FIRST E&P JV
In November 2022, the OML 83 and 85 NNPC/FIRST E&P Joint Venture (the ‘JV’) donated relief materials to 48 Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps in Bayelsa state in a bid to alleviate hardship from a major flood disaster which affected the state. Over 20,000 internally displaced persons benefited from the relief materials which included foodstuff, water and other hygiene products.
4. NNPC Ltd/FIRST E&P JV’s ‘Impact First Initiative’; Donates Over N50M in Grants to Non-Governmental Organizations
In April 2025 the NNPC Ltd/FIRST E&P Joint Venture (JV) donated over fifty million naira to five outstanding NGOs in the inaugural edition of its ‘Impact First’ initiative. The ‘Impact FIRST’ program is designed to provide much needed support to NGOs that are addressing critical issues ranging from healthcare access, education access, poverty alleviation and empowerment initiatives for vulnerable people and disadvantaged groups across the country. For this maiden edition of the initiative, The IREDE Foundation, Cerebral Palsy Centre, OISA Foundation, Human Development Initiatives (HDI) and Niola Cancer Care Foundation emerged as beneficiaries of financial grants.
5. COVID-19 Vaccines donated in Nigeria
At the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic, the NNPC Ltd/FIRST E&P JV donated COVID-19 Vaccines for use in Nigeria as part of the JV’s contribution towards saving lives and bringing the pandemic to a halt.
