Afforestation and Sustainability Programs

We recognize the role that biodiversity conservation plays in maintaining a healthy ecosystem and the services we benefit from the ecosystem. This informs our support of key biodiversity restoration and conservation initiatives such as the soon to be launched Afforestation/Reforestation, Livelihood Enhancement and Carbon Sequestration. A biodiversity project that aims to restore lost tropical and mangrove forest in our littoral communities (KEFESSO), contribute to climate mitigation through carbon sequestration while enhancing the socio-economic status of community members.  

We see biodiversity as having multilayered benefits to the environment including socio-economic sustainability and climate action through carbon sequestration.

Net-Zero Strategy

FIRST E&P recognizes the impact of greenhouse gases on the environment and the impact of those gases on the environment and people. This awareness drives our commitment to achieving Net-Zero emission status within our organization in line with national agreements through several initiatives that aim to tackle emissions at their sources.



Our recent re-injection of gas into MADU well represents a milestone achievement towards our Net-Zero targets by reducing up to 90% of our Upstream emissions.

Through rigorous monitoring and transparent reporting, we aim to hold ourselves accountable for our environmental impact, illustrating our unwavering commitment to not just meeting but exceeding sustainability standards.
