Achieving FIRST oil in record time
Our expedited journey to first oil across our key assets, including OML 83 and OML 85, showcases our operational excellence and our ability to navigate complex challenges with agility and expertise.

The NNPC/FIRST E&P Joint Venture took Final Investment Decision (FID) for the development of the Anyala and Madu fields in OMLs 83 and 85 and First Oil in Anyala was achieved on 21st October 2020 amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, delivering 3.8-million-man hours with zero Lost Time Incident.

Strategic Acquisitions and Partnerships
Our strategic acquisitions, including significant interests in OML 34, OML 71, and OML 72, alongside partnerships with industry leaders like Dangote Industries Limited, reflect our credibility, strategic foresight, and commitment to diversifying our energy portfolio.

Outstanding Drilling  Performance in Anyala (Rushmore)

FIRST E&P's Anyala project in OML-83 shines as a beacon of excellence, highlighting exceptional efficiency and safety in Nigeria's offshore drilling sector. Utilizing the Borr Natt drilling jack-up rig, operations commenced on April 17th, 2019, with the spudding of the Anyala-11 appraisal well.

Ground breaking Local Fabrication ofConductor Supported Platforms (CSPs)

Ground breaking Local Fabrication of Conductor Supported Platforms (CSP). The Anyala and Madu Conductor Supported Platforms (CSPs) were designed by an engineering service provider and constructed locally by fabrication contractors under the guidance of a highly skilled team of FIRST E&P Engineers.

A novel idea in the Nigeria shallow offshore space, Conductor Supported Platforms (CSPs) offer a modular and economical solution, compared to conventional jacket platforms. These structures harness the robustness of drilling conductors to serve a dual purpose of providing support for the topside platform structure and act as protective casings for the wells.

The combined weight of each platform, consisting of Subsea Structure Module, Drilling Deck Module and Production Deck Module, is over 600 tonnes. The fabrication of the platforms contributed significantly to local development initiatives, with both performing higher than the 45% Nigerian Content (NC) level prescribed in the NOGIC Act 2010.

The engineering feat earned FIRST E&P the award of the "Independent or Indigenous Upstream Operating Company with the most impactful local content development initiatives executed in Nigeria" at the Nigerian Oil and Gas Opportunity Fair (NOGOF) in 2021 and 2023.

Awards and Recognition

Our recognition by the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources as the ‘Most Compliant Nigeria Content Oil Company’ affirms our commitment to local content and community development.

FIRSTE&P was recognized with the ‘Best Independent Petroleum Producer 2022 Award’ at the Gala Dinner and Award Night of the Nigeria Independent Energy Summit (NIES2023).

The company also secured the ‘Independent or Indigenous Upstream Operating Company with the most impactful local content development initiatives executed in Nigeria’ at the 2023 edition of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Opportunity Fair (NOGOF).
